Nazeing History Workshop is a non profit organisation which is actively researching the history of Nazeing village.

It's aims are:

  • to seek out written and oral information

  • to record the information, mainly on computer databases

  • to share the information by publishing books and  articles, giving talks, and participating in displays and exhibitions.

  • we are now sharing our parish and chapel records so you can research your ancestors on line. Got to nazeinghistory.org

Computer database records are held of:

  • Parish Registers from 1559

  • Census records 1841 - 1911

  • Tithe returns - 1847

  • Parish Land Survey of 1824

  • Historic Houses

  • Nazeing Wood/Park (The Common).

  • Lloyd George Domesday Records 1910

 

Meetings will be held in members' houses when rules allow. Up to then we will have zoom meetings..

You don't need to live in the village or be able to join us for our meetings.

Perhaps you have skills that can help us to further our aims.
