NAZEING 1918

      May 5 -7 2018

After our successful Nazeing 1914 exhibition in 2014,  many people asked us for "the book of the exhibition", which we have now published.

This follow up exhibition marks a hundred years since the end of the Great War. It featured seven panels produced in conjunction with Epping forest District Museum, and supported by a match-funded grant from Epping forest District Council, which we greatly appreciate. The panels illustrate how the village began to change in the early 20th Century.

In 1900 and in 1912, Nazeing Parish Council described Nazeing as "a purely agricultural parish". The new book asks how true the statement was.

Among many sources used in this book are the reminiscences of two young women who were girls in Nazeing before the Great War.
